Punch Clock — crew time tracking
Punch Clock is BuildPunch's crew time clock: GPS-stamped clock-in and clock-out, geofenced job sites, a kiosk mode for a shared tablet, break and auto-lunch rules, weekly overtime, supervisor approvals, and payroll-ready CSV. It is for contractors still collecting paper time cards or paying per-user for a standalone time app. It replaces a dedicated time-clock subscription at $1 to $2 per worker per month on a company plan.
How the crew punches
- Big-button clock-in and clock-out on a phone, with the GPS position recorded at the punch — at the punch only, not continuously.
- Geofenced job sites: the app knows whether the punch happened at the site it claims.
- Kiosk mode turns one shared tablet in the trailer into a clock-in station, with a PIN per worker.
- Break tracking with auto-lunch rules, and weekly overtime split automatically.
What the office gets
- Timesheets with a supervisor approve/reject workflow and a manual adjustment path with an audit trail.
- Payroll CSV export, plus a QuickBooks-shaped CSV and a PDF timesheet.
- GPS mileage at no extra charge: start a trip, GPS records the route, miles compute automatically, and an admin can review the actual route on a map, trim a forgotten stop off the end, assign the trip to a job, and export it to payroll.
What it costs
Clock-only worker seats are $2/worker/month on Starter, $1.50 on Professional, and $1 on Business. Standalone Punch Clock without a platform plan is $3.50/worker/month with a $10/month minimum.
A 15-worker crew is $52.50/month standalone, or $22.50/month in seats on Professional — with the punch lists, photos, drawings, and daily reports behind it.
