Live cameras and timelapse

Live Cameras lets you point BuildPunch at any RTSP camera that is reachable from the internet — ecam/Orchid, Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, or an NVR with port forwarding — and watch the site live on the web or in the mobile app. It is for owners and PMs who want to see the job without driving to it. It replaces a separate camera portal and a separate timelapse subscription, because the snapshots and the timelapse land in the project.

Live view, then straight into the record

Feeds start from the last frame so the view appears immediately instead of buffering.
One tap saves a screenshot into the project's Photos, where it is taggable and searchable like any other jobsite photo.
Cameras are managed per project, with camera access controlled by role — admins, PMs, and superintendents, not every viewer.

Timelapse from daily full-resolution stills

Choose up to four times of day. At each one, BuildPunch captures a full-resolution still from the camera's high-quality stream and stores it as a frame. Those frames are assembled into an H.264 MP4 with the date burned into each frame, and frames can optionally be included in the project photo feed.

This is a stills-based build-progress timelapse, not continuous video recording — BuildPunch does not act as an NVR.

How to set up a jobsite camera timelapse in BuildPunch

Connect an RTSP camera to a project and have BuildPunch capture daily full-resolution stills and assemble them into an MP4 timelapse.

1. Make the camera reachable — Make sure the camera's RTSP stream is reachable from the internet — a cloud camera such as ecam/Orchid, or an on-site NVR with port forwarding for Hikvision, Dahua, or Axis.
2. Add the camera to the project — In the project, open Cameras and add the camera with its RTSP URL and credentials. Live view starts from the last frame, so it appears immediately.
3. Choose the capture times — Turn on timelapse for that camera and pick up to four times of day. BuildPunch captures a full-resolution still off the camera's high-quality stream at each one.
4. Let the frames accumulate — Frames build up day by day, and BuildPunch assembles them into an H.264 MP4 with the date burned into each frame. Optionally include the frames in the project photo feed.
5. Download or share the timelapse — Download the assembled timelapse video from the camera's page, or drop a still into the project's Photos with one tap.

Live Cameras requires Professional (4 cameras per project) or Business (36 per project).
