Drawings and plans

BuildPunch drawing management is your PDF plan set, versioned and marked up, with punch items pinned to real locations on real sheets. It is for the superintendent who is still carrying a roll of paper that went out of date two revisions ago. It replaces a standalone plan viewer, and it removes the separate step of emailing the current sheet to a sub — you send a link instead.

Revisions that keep their history

Upload a new revision and BuildPunch keeps the lineage: every prior version stays viewable, you can compare two revisions, and you can revert if a set goes up by mistake. Nobody works off a superseded sheet because it was the one attached to an old email.

Markup and measurement

Annotate with pen, line, rectangle, circle, arrow, and text.
Cross-sheet hyperlinks: tap a detail callout and land on the detail sheet.
Calibrate a sheet's scale with one known length, then measure distances, perimeters, and areas in feet, inches, or meters — on the web or standing in the field on a phone.
Pin punch items to exact coordinates on a page so the item and the location travel together.

Share a plan set without buying a seat

Flip a plan set or a document folder public and send one link. Subs, owners, and inspectors open and download without creating an account, new sheets added to an active link appear automatically, and you can revoke the link at any time.

How to share drawings with a subcontractor without buying them a seat

Turn a plan set or document folder into a revocable public link so a subcontractor can view and download the current sheets with no account.

1. Upload the current drawing set — In the project, open Drawings and upload the PDF set. If you are replacing an earlier revision, upload it as a new version so the history is kept.
2. Create a public share link — From the plan set or the document folder, create a public share link. New sheets you add later appear on the same link automatically.
3. Send the link — Text or email the link to the subcontractor. They open and download the sheets in any browser, with no account and no app install.
4. Revoke it when the job ends — Revoke the share link at any time from the same screen; the link stops working immediately.
