BuildPunch replaces the stack most contractors run today — a photo app, a punch app, a plan viewer, a daily-report app, and a time clock — with one project that every one of those workflows writes into. Each page below explains what the feature is, who it is for, and what it replaces, then gets specific.
Photo documentation
BuildPunch photo documentation is a jobsite camera and photo record built into the project itself: your crew shoots in the app, the file uploads straight to project storage at full resolution, and it never saves to their personal camera roll. It is for any contractor whose evidence currently lives in twelve phones and a text thread. It replaces a standalone photo app like CompanyCam, because the same photos are already attached to punch items, daily reports, and drawings.
Daily reports
BuildPunch daily reports are the end-of-day field record: open the day, and the site weather is already filled in from the project's location; add crew by trade, notes, delays, equipment, and photos; export a branded PDF or send it to owners and architects who never need an account. It is for superintendents who currently retype the same report into email every evening. It replaces a dedicated daily-reporting app like Raken, with the difference that the punch items and photos it references are already in the same project.
Punch lists
BuildPunch punch lists turn a walkthrough into tracked, assigned work: capture an item with a photo and a description, pin it to the exact spot on the drawing, assign it to a subcontractor, and require a fix photo before it can even be marked ready for review. It is for anyone whose closeout currently lives in a spreadsheet and a folder of unlabeled photos. It replaces snag-list apps that produce a report but do not produce a fix.
Drawings and plans
BuildPunch drawing management is your PDF plan set, versioned and marked up, with punch items pinned to real locations on real sheets. It is for the superintendent who is still carrying a roll of paper that went out of date two revisions ago. It replaces a standalone plan viewer, and it removes the separate step of emailing the current sheet to a sub — you send a link instead.
Live cameras and timelapse
Live Cameras lets you point BuildPunch at any RTSP camera that is reachable from the internet — ecam/Orchid, Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, or an NVR with port forwarding — and watch the site live on the web or in the mobile app. It is for owners and PMs who want to see the job without driving to it. It replaces a separate camera portal and a separate timelapse subscription, because the snapshots and the timelapse land in the project.
Subcontractor portal
The subcontractor portal is a link you send a sub that opens their assigned work — their punch items, their photos, their comments — in a browser, in English or Spanish, without them buying anything. It is for the GC who cannot get twelve subcontractors to install and learn a platform. It replaces the text-message-and-hope loop, and it means subs never consume a licensed seat on your plan.
Team and permissions
BuildPunch permissions decide what each person can see and do, per project and per invite: six system roles, custom roles you build from individual permissions, per-folder document access, and a guest scope for people outside your company. It is for any GC who wants the owner in the project without the owner seeing the sub's pricing. It replaces the everything-or-nothing sharing you get from a folder in cloud storage.
Punch Clock time tracking
Punch Clock is BuildPunch's crew time clock: GPS-stamped clock-in and clock-out, geofenced job sites, a kiosk mode for a shared tablet, break and auto-lunch rules, weekly overtime, supervisor approvals, and payroll-ready CSV. It is for contractors still collecting paper time cards or paying per-user for a standalone time app. It replaces a dedicated time-clock subscription at $1 to $2 per worker per month on a company plan.
